Alms does not solve poverty

 "Think for a moment!

Alms does not solve poverty

We did a social experiment with two teenagers. We sent one to beg in old clothes and the other to sell different things. The beggar earned eight hundred rupees in the evening, while the seller earned only one and a half hundred rupees. The experiment showed that we, as a nation, reward begging and punish hard work.

We should value every penny earned by hotel waiters, greengrocers, and small-scale workers. But we give 10, 20, or 150 rupees to the beggars and think that we have secured our place in heaven. We should feed only those who have no choice but to beg and pay the workers more than they deserve. Our teacher told us that if we give one lakh rupees in cash to a beggar, he will hide it somewhere and start begging again the next day.

On the other hand, if we help a worker or a person in need, he will use it for his legitimate needs and improve his work. Why don't we keep a jar at home and put the coins we save for charity in it? When we have enough money, we can give it to someone who is not a beggar. There are millions of students, patients, workers, and women in this country who need a penny.

If we help the right person, even one rupee can make a difference. Remember! Charity does not reduce poverty, but increases it. Give wisely and carefully. This way, we can change the world and our afterlife. The choice is yours."
